ncyabut,

brod jj, puwede mong gawing  2 weeks ang pagitan ng gumboro vaccine.  in fact there are some farms, in order to be sure against IBD which is a very debilitating viral infection, who give gumboro vaccine weekly from week 2 to week 4.

yung clone 30 is also a type of NCD vaccine which is "killed" it costs about P290 per vial.

ang bigopest is a 3-in-1 vaccine which enhances the effects of the NCD, IB and IBD vaccines and this costs about P4,950.

pag oral it can be given throught the beak or through the drinking water, it can also be given through the nostrils and the eyes.

please call kaagpas and look for arnel at 933-7921 for further queries.

regards,

mark

ncyabut,

tanong ulit...

pwede ba B1B1 muna then sa next vaccine at MA5 Clone 30 naman ?

parekoy jj, i'm not a vet but here is what i have gathered regarding the clone 30 vaccine,  Nobilis Ma5 + Clone 30 is a live vaccine against Infectious Bronchitis serotype Massachusetts (strain Ma5) and Newcastle Disease in chickens.

Formulation
 A freeze-dried pellet.

Indications
Indications Immunization of healthy chickens against disease caused by the Massachusetts type or serologically related types of Infectious Bronchitis Virus, and Newcastle Disease.

Vaccination
- The vaccine is safe to use from 1 day of age onwards.
- The optimum time and method of administration depend largely upon the local situation.
- Therefore, the advice of a veterinary surgeon should be sought.

Dosage
 One drop per bird.

Method of administration

 -  Spray method.
The vaccine should be dissolved in cool, clean water which is free of iron and chlorine. The vials should be opened under water. The spray apparatus should be free from sediments, corrosion and traces of disinfectants (preferably used for vaccination purpose only). The vaccine medicated water should be sprayed evenly over the correct number of birds, at a distance of 30 to 40 cm, preferably when the birds are sitting together in dim light. For day old chicks use 0.25 liter for 1000 birds and for older birds use 0.5 liter for 1000 birds and set the nozzle to produce a coarse spray.

-   Intranasal / intraocular instillation.
Dissolve the vaccine in physiological saline solution (usually 30 ml per 1000 doses) and administer by means of a standardised dropper. One drop should be applied from a height of a few centimetres into one nostril or one eye. The handler should ensure that the nasal drop is inhaled by the bird.
Note: For intranasal / intraocular administration a special diluent, Diluent Oculo Nasal is available.

Drinking water.
The vials should be opened under water. Use cool, clean water which is free of iron and chlorine. By adding 2 gm skimmed milk powder per litre of water the virus retains its activity much longer. Ensure uptake of all the vaccine-medicated water in 2 hours. Depending on the weather conditions, it may be advisable to deprive the birds of water prior to vaccination. A sufficient number of water containers to provide adequate drinking space is essential. These should be clean and free from traces of detergents and disinfectants. Dissolve 1000 doses in as many litres of water as the age of the birds in days, to a maximum of 40 litres. The vaccine should be given in the early morning as this is the main period for drinking or the cool period on a hot day. When vaccinating larger flocks, it is advisable to start by dissolving only part of the vaccine. If vaccine is administered through a central water supply or a proportioner, great care should be taken. For numbers of birds between standard dosages, the next higher dosage should be chosen.
Note: Administration by coarse spray or the oculo-nasal route gives the best response. These should be the methods of choice, especially when vaccinating young birds.

Withholding period
 None

Presentation
Boxes of vials each containing 1000 or 2500 doses.

Storage
Store at a temperature of  2-8°C in the dark.

Contra-indications
When used according to instructions: None.

Further information
- Reconstituted vaccine should be used within two hours.
 - Use of the vaccine can cause temporary conjunctivitis in the operator.
- Avoid exposure to the vaccine virus as much as possible (e.g. by wearing a face mask).
- The vaccine viruses spread readily to contact chickens.
- Dispose of empty or part-used vials in accordance with local regulations.

Precautions
 -  Vaccinate healthy birds only.
 - Wash and disinfect hands and equipment after vaccinating.
 - Each vial should be used immediately after opening

CLONEVAC-30® is prepared using specific pathogen free (SPF) substrates from the proven Clone 30 strain of Newcastle disease virus.  Intervet’s Research team cloned several lentogenic Newcastle virus strains to separate possible sub-populations within these strains. These clones were then extensively tested for immunogenicity and reactivity.  One clone, designated Newcastle virus Clone 30, was selected and proven to be of the same order of reactivity as the classical Hitchner B1, but provided considerably better protection. The Clone 30 strain has been propagated under exacting standards using specific pathogen free (SPF) substrates.  The immunizing capability of this vaccine has also been proven by the Master Seed Immunogenicity Test.
This vaccine contains gentamicin as a preservative.

INDICATIONS:

Drinking Water – Vaccination of healthy chickens two weeks of age or older for protection against Newcastle disease.
Coarse Spray – Vaccination of healthy chickens two weeks of age or older for protection against Newcastle disease.

Revaccination at older ages is recommended for optimum protection.  Initial vaccination should be by drinking water or intraocular route.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Many factors must be considered in determining a sound vaccination program for a particular farm or poultry complex.  To be fully effective, the vaccine must be administered properly to healthy, receptive animals maintained in a proper environment under good management.  In addition, the response may be influenced by the age of the animals and their immune status.  Seldom does one live virus vaccination under field conditions produce lifetime protection for all individuals in a given flock.  The level of immunity required will vary with operational practices and the degree of exposure.  Therefore, a program of periodic revaccinations may be necessary.

Preparation of Vaccine

Drinking Water or Coarse Spray:
Do not open and mix the vaccine until ready to begin vaccination.  Use vaccine immediately after mixing.

1. Initial use of this vaccine should be by drinking water or eye drop administration.
2. Remove the tear-off seal and stopper from vial containing the dried vaccine.
3. Carefully pour clean, cool, non-chlorinated water into the vaccine vial until the vial is approximately 2/3 full.
4. Insert the rubber stopper and shake vigorously until all material is dissolved.
5. The vaccine is now ready for drinking water or coarse spray use in accordance with the following direction.  For best results, be sure to follow directions carefully.

Drinking Water Administration

For chickens two weeks of age or older
1. Do not use any disinfectants in the drinking water for 48 hours before vaccinating and for 24 hours after vaccination.
2. Withhold water from the chickens until they are thirsty.  Withholding periods will vary from 2 to 8 hours according to the age of chickens and weather.  Be careful in hot weather.
3. Scrub and rinse waterers thoroughly with fresh, clean water.  Do not use disinfectants for cleaning the waterers.
4. Rehydrate the vaccine as directed above.
5. Mix rehydrated vaccine with clean, cool, non-chlorinated water in accordance with chart below.
Water Per Age of Chicken Water Per 1,000 Doses if Vaccine
2 to 4 weeks 23 litres (6 gallons)
4 to 8 weeks 38 litres (10 gallons)
8 weeks or older 60 litres (16 gallons)
As an aid in preserving the virus, 85mL (3.2oz) of non-fat powdered milk may be added to each 38 litres
(10 gallons) of water used for mixing vaccine.  Add the dried mild first and agitate thoroughly.  Then add the rehydrated vaccine from the vial and mix thoroughly.
6. Distribute the vaccine solution, as prepared above, among the waterers provided for the chickens.  Avoid placing waterers in direct sunlight.
7. Provide no other drinking water until all the vaccine-water solution has been consumed.

Coarse Spray Administration

For chickens two weeks of age or older:
1. Initial spray vaccination should be by coarse spray, ie:  Hardi® Back-Pack Sprayer.
2. Do not use disinfectants or skim milk in sprayer.
3. Use sprayer only for administration of vaccine. Clean thoroughly after each use.
4. Shut off all fans while spray vaccinating.  Turn on fans immediately after spraying.  Be careful in hot weather.
5. Spray chickens by walking slowly through the house.
6. Follow the recommendation of the manufacturer of the sprayer regarding water volume and particle size.
7. Use only clean, cool, deionized water.
8. Individual(s) spraying chickens should wear face mask and goggles.

Records: Keep a record of vaccine, quantity, serial number, expiration date, place of purchase; date and time of vaccination; the number, age, breed, and locations of chickens; name of the operators performing the vaccination and any observed reactions.

PRECAUTIONS:

Vaccinate only healthy chickens.  Although disease may not be evident, coccidiosis, mycoplasma infection, infectious bursal disease, reovirus infection, Marek’s disease and other disease conditions may cause complications or reduce immunity.

All susceptible chickens on the same premises should be vaccinated at the same time.
Efforts should be taken to reduce stress conditions at the time of vaccination and during the reaction period.
Do not spill or splash the vaccine.

Do not dilute the vaccine or otherwise stretch the dosage.
Use the entire contents when first opened.
Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter.
Burn containers and all unused contents.
Warning:  Newcastle virus occasionally causes conjunctivitis in humans, lasting two or three days.  Avoid any contact of vaccine with eyes.

FOR VETERINARY USE ONLY.

STORAGE CONDITIONS:
Recommended storage temperature 2-7°C (35-45°F).
Do not freeze or expose to direct sunlight.

Administration

Just as important as the timing of vaccination is proper administration. With vaccinations, we are attempting to vaccinate the entire flock, not to prevent infection, but to prevent disease. In any vaccinated flock, a certain percentage of the birds may not be adequately vaccinated and thus remain susceptible to disease. If a large percentage of the birds are protected, then the pathogens shed from the infected bird are less likely to find another susceptible bird to infect and eventually the threat of spread of disease is drastically reduced. Therefore, the fewer birds that are susceptible, the less likely that a field challenge will result in severe disease within the flock.

Extreme care must be taken to ensure the vaccines are handled properly and delivered appropriately so that each bird receives an immunizing dose. Strict attention to detail can mean the difference between protected birds and those that remain susceptible. It is important to read the information supplied with the vaccine vials, administer it properly and pay close attention to withdrawal times.

Vaccines administered properly, at the correct time and with the appropriate antigen content do not guarantee 100 percent protection. However, a well designed, well timed and soundly executed vaccination program coupled with good management, nutrition and biosecurity will go a long way to helping maintain a healthy and productive flock.

Sir, if you want to include IBD or Gumboro in your vaccination program, hwat you can do is to start giving the broodstocks that you will be using next breeding season.  This will give your chicks acquired immunity for up to 2 weeks or until such time you can vaccinate them against this viral infection.  Losses when this infection hits your farm can run up to 90%.  This hits between 3 weeks to 3 months of age. But for  cocks there is no need to vaccinate them against gumboro anymore.

it would be sound practice to vaccinate with NCD-Lasota every six months to prevent any outbreaks in your farm.  vaccinate all roosters, hens, stags, cockerels, pullets and chicks in your flock.
