New to this forum and not really sure if i`m posting this in the right place.I have just bought a yellow birchen trio and would like to know everyones opinion on this breed.Is it a good breed of fowl?     thanks

It is a bread that you dont see a lot of but that is also because in the states the success of breeds sort of makes people flock together.  I have seen those yellow chickens fight before and the ones that came from KS was pretty impressive.  They are a fondation breed as in a very old line which several have manage to keep true to size, color and gameness.

I had a friend that crossed them on some old boston RHeads and did very well with them.  Those old boston were the gamest roundhead and had pretty good bottom.  The yellow gave them accuracy and speed.  Sounds funny but those yellow birds are pretty quick especial for there size.

the yellow birchens is what some called the off shoot of the whitehackles and unknown to many is the somewhat like the direct descendants of the golds that are currently winning in the pit.cheers.
